The Message Behind The Blog
First, I want to say that everyone is welcome—in fact, everyone is encouraged to be part of my message. While I recognize that there are other BIPOC travel creators highlighting culture, food, and travel, my focus is to shine a light specifically on the outdoor and slow travel space.
Inclusivity & The Love Of The Outdoors 🇲🇽 🥾
As a first-generation Mexican-American woman, I want to connect with and inspire—while also being inspired by—more diverse women in the outdoors. Also, encourage responsible travel in order to take care of our fragile wild spaces and be a better traveler in the tourism space.
I aim to reach women who are in a season of life where they have a deep love for adventure, travel, nature, and wildlife. Women who want to explore these places responsibly, protect wild spaces, and embrace the joy and responsibility that comes with that connection.
A Purpose-Driven Brand

Slow & Mindful Travel 🌿
I also want to highlight the importance of slow and local travel. By slow, I mean not rushing to see everything at once.
There’s a time and place for fast-paced travel, but here, we celebrate exploring the land we call home and supporting the local businesses that make each destination unique.
These businesses aren’t just places to shop or eat—they’re run by people who care deeply about their communities, love where they live, and work to create a wonderful place for both locals and visitors. Supporting them helps keep that love and care alive.

My Sweet Spot
I write outdoor, local travel, and photography guides and create engaging adventure videos that inspire and support my diverse female travelers to get outside, explore the world more mindfully, and create their own stories.
The Why
“be the change you wish to see in the world.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“I was tired of not seeing women of color represented in outdoor travel and photography spaces.”
For years, I followed creators who inspired me to get outside—but I didn’t relate to anyone. I was tired of not seeing women of color represented in outdoor travel and photography spaces. I’m the daughter of hardworking immigrant parents, a brown woman with big creative dreams, and a Latina who once questioned if she belonged in these wild, beautiful spaces I loved so much.
Today, I want to be a voice for women who have ever felt unseen or unworthy, women who find peace in nature, who care deeply about communities and sustainability, and who express themselves through storytelling, photography, and the written word. My hope is to inspire—and be inspired by—more diverse, earth-loving women who see the outdoors not just as a backdrop, but as a home.

Who I Write For
Our World with Jessy is for women in their 30s who are passionate about the outdoors and local travel—women who want to plan their trips with intention, capture meaningful photographs, travel mindfully, and connect with an inclusive, diverse community.
My readers are curious, intentional, wild travelers who crave more than a checklist of tourist stops. They’re hikers, road trippers, photographers, and journal keepers—adventurous women who want to slow down, get a little dirty, connect with nature, honor community, and find meaning in their outdoor adventures.
Many are balancing busy lives but feel pulled toward the outdoors, seeking inspiration, resources, and encouragement to travel in a way that’s mindful, memorable, sustainable, and free-spirited.
What My Readers Care About
Some are bilingual, most are diverse, and ALL value stories that reflect their own identities and experiences in outdoor spaces.
My female readers care about representation, supporting local businesses, protecting the landscapes they explore, and experiencing amazing adventures. Some of them are single while others have a beloved adventure partner like myself with Phil (my husband).
Regardless of their relationship status, they’re the kind of people who linger at scenic overlooks, pack a journal before a tent, and believe that adventure is as much about reflection as it is about movement.
