Hola and welcome! I’m Jessy—a mid-30s Mexican-American woman, the slow traveler, writer, and photographer behind this blog — who also happens to be a full-time Travel Radiation Therapist. I’ve been living in Colorado and traveling through The Rockies in my truck camper for the past 5+ years.
When I’m not working in cancer centers, I share mindful travel guides, photo tips, & helpful resources from my hometown in Colorado, The Rockies, and beyond. The goal with my blog is to inspire women and mindful travelers—especially those traditionally underrepresented in the outdoors—to explore with intention and tread lightly.

“I was tired of not seeing women of color represented in outdoor travel and photography spaces.”
For years, I followed creators who inspired me to get outside—but I didn’t relate to anyone. I was tired of not seeing women of color represented in outdoor travel and photography spaces. I’m the daughter of hardworking immigrant parents, a brown woman with big creative dreams, and a Latina who once questioned if she belonged in these wild, beautiful spaces I loved so much.
Today, I want to be a voice for women who have ever felt unseen or unworthy, women who find peace in nature, who care deeply about communities and sustainability, and who express themselves through storytelling, photography, and the written word. My hope is to inspire—and be inspired by—more diverse, earth-loving women who see the outdoors not just as a backdrop, but as a home.

Hi, I’m Jessy!

Hola, I’m Jessy—a tea-loving, journal-carrying, road trip-obsessed Mexican-American woman based in Colorado. In Fall 2020, a road trip to Moab, Utah changed my life. That’s when I fell in love with photography & storytelling. Fast forward to today, where I now travel full-time as a Travel Radiation Therapist throughout the US as well as create engaging destinations guides and adventure videos as a photographer and filmmaker.
After losing my younger brother to cancer, I’ve spent years working in a hospital, helping others through their most vulnerable moments. That experience taught me how precious life is—and eventually, it led me to build one that felt more like me.

While this adventure blog often has my name on it, many of the stories, road trips, and photos come to life because of the teamwork between Phil (my husband) and I.
From chasing golden hour in the Rockies to fixing holes in a gas tank in the middle of nowhere, we’ve built this journey together—one mountain pass, photo stop, and coffee (and tea) -fueled morning at a time. Every post has both of us behind it, a beautiful shared story woven in.

A single road trip to Colorado seven years ago changed my life. Since then, I have dedicated myself to exploring our world more mindfully. My goals for my female travelers are:
- Create an inclusive community of seen & empowered diverse female mindful outdoor travelers and creatives.
- Share the beauty and our connection with nature. How our lives are elevated when we travel, explore, & spend time outside.
- Advocate creativity, self-expression, and voice. Inspire worthiness of taking up space.
- Encourage mindfulness, intentional living, and inner self-growth. Using these practices in our areas of life to evolve as humans, in both our inner and outer worlds.
